The Strategic Management Society is pleased to announce our 16th Annual Doctoral Workshop to be held Saturday, October 19, preceding the SMS Annual Conference in Minneapolis. The Annual Doctoral Workshop will be held at the Hilton Minneapolis, the site of the SMS Conference.
We are proud to continue to offer 25 scholarships to be awarded to participants in our pre-eminent PhD workshop. These scholarships will be offered through competitive entry and review of student nominations, and will cover costs of the Annual Doctoral Workshop, as well as the SMS Annual Conference registration fee and SMS membership for the following year.
This workshop is intended for doctoral students that have completed post-comprehensive exams but are not yet on the job market. The workshop will be highly interactive and will include a variety of panels, practical sessions on developing dissertation proposals and launching academic careers, and a meet-the-editors session.
Applicants must have completed the initial comprehensive examination and coursework (or equivalent) of their doctoral program. Acceptance of a proposal at the SMS Annual Conference is not required, but attendance at the conference is expected.
All nominations must include all of the materials listed below and should be submitted online to the conference website by June 30, 2019. To apply, please upload one (1) PDF document through the online submission system that is found on this page.
