The Strategic Management Society is pleased to announce a Doctoral Workshop will be held at the SMS Special Conference in Sao Paulo on Thursday, March 15, 2018. The Doctoral Workshop will take place at the FGV Berrini building, located walking distance from the conference venue, the Sao Paulo World Trade Center.
The workshop will be led by Rodrigo Bandeira de Mello (Merrimack College and FGV-EBAPE), Olivier Bertrand (FGV-EBAPE), and Sandro Cabral (INSPER) as co-directors. Names of additional faculty members taking part in the workshop will be available soon on this website.
The workshop will include guest speakers who will give advice on how to develop a good dissertation and research program, how to be competitive in the job market, and how to publish in top journals. Senior strategic management scholars will provide feedback on dissertation proposals in roundtable discussions.
The workshop is intended for doctoral students, preferably at the early stage of their dissertation research. Applicants must have completed the first year of their doctoral program; preference will be given to those commencing the formal work on their doctoral topic. Acceptance of a proposal in the competitive program of SMS Special Conference in Sao Paulo is not required, but all students interested in participating in the doctoral workshop must be registered for the conference. Students that are not awarded a scholarship (described above) will receive a discounted registration rate when registering for the conference.
