The Corporate Strategy Interest Group is pleased to host a paper development workshop and future research directions workshop for junior faculty on Saturday October 19th, 2019 from 9AM until 12PM. The goal of the workshop is two-fold: (1) to provide junior scholars with collective insights from a panel of senior scholars operating at the forefront of the field of strategy and (2) to give junior scholars an opportunity to receive feedback on their current papers in progress on topics central to the corporate strategy area. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to, actions associated with changing the firm's scope and profile of business lines including vertical integration, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, corporate diversification strategy/organization, implementation and performance.
In the first part of the workshop, several panelists will share their insights on how to develop a successful academic career and on research and publishing in top journals. In the second part of the workshop participants will have the opportunity to receive feedback on their current work in progress from senior faculty, as well as provide their own feedback to their peers. In order to get the most out of this part of the workshop, we will send all participants 1 or 2 papers at the beginning of October and we will kindly ask them to provide feedback to the authors during the roundtable session. The workshop will end with a common lunch.
Xavier Castañer and Xavier Martin will only participate in the first part of the workshop.
