Following the SMS special conference in Rome, a Paper Development Workshop (PDW) will be offered. The workshop is scheduled for the afternoon of June 7 and will take place at the conference venue. The SEJ will provide members of the editorial team (Co- and/or Associate Editors) to participate in the PDW and give feedback to the authors in a round table discussion format. The workshop will also invite peer feedback from the other participants to offer a rich developmental experience to the authors.
After conclusion of the workshop in Rome, the authors of promising papers will be matched with domain experts from among the SEJ editorial team for a further round of informal review and feedback. It is hoped that the resulting papers would within 3-4 months of the Rome conference then be ready for submission into the regular review process of the SEJ or another leading journal in the field.
Participation in the workshop does not imply a commitment by the authors to eventually submit their work to the SEJ, nor a commitment by SEJ to accept and publish the paper. However, the SEJ Editorial Team is keen to build a strong partnership between scholars and the journal with the objective of furthering scholarship on strategic entrepreneurship.
Conference organizers have recommended the top-ranked proposals accepted to the conference, and these author teams have been invited to submit a full paper for this workshop. Additionally, we invite all authors of proposals accepted to the conference to submit a full paper for consideration for participation in this workshop.
The selected papers will likely represent the best fit with the scope of the SEJ; i.e., work at the intersection of the strategy and entrepreneurship domains. Invitation to the PDW should be considered a special recognition to the authors and help increase the chances of publishing the work in a top journal as well as increase the impact of their research.
To submit full papers, please use the Application area and submit by no later than Friday, April 15. Applicants will then be notified by Friday, May 6.
