The Strategic Management Society is seeking a PhD student volunteer to represent the interests of PhD student members on the Membership Committee of the SMS Board of Directors. The PhD Student Representative will work as a team with other committee members and the SMS Office to build a sense of community for SMS members, particularly PhD student members, by identifying and organizing relevant member engagement programs and initiatives. Additionally, the representative will collaborate closely with the PhD Circle Champions to address the interests and concerns of doctoral students and actively engage them within the SMS community.
SMS is seeking candidates from a variety of backgrounds and geographies to best represent and serve the community at large. Eligible candidates are current SMS members who are entering at least their second year of SMS membership as of January 1, 2025. Candidates must be willing to serve an initial term of one year, with the opportunity to renew for one year, pending a review and approval process. Candidates must maintain membership for the duration of that term. They must also be in at least the third year of their doctoral program.

Candidates should highlight their volunteer service to the academic profession with SMS or other associations, their current stage in their PhD program, and whether they are currently on the job market.
