Marco Ceccagnoli’s research and teaching focus on the economics and management of innovation, entrepreneurship, corporate innovation, and markets for technology, and their role in shaping a firm’s business and corporate strategy. His work has earned international recognition, including the William W. Cooper Doctoral Dissertation Award in Management Science, the runner-up Best Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Academy of Management’s Technology and Innovation Management (TIM) Division, and the Best Paper Award from the Cooperative Strategy Interest Group of the Strategic Management Society (SMS), among others.

He has published in top-tier economics and management journals, including Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, MIS Quarterly, Research Policy, Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, Journal of Industrial Economics, and Review of Economics and Statistics.

Dr. Ceccagnoli holds a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University and a magna cum laude Laurea (M.S.) degree from the University of Rome “La Sapienza.” Before joining the faculty at Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business in 2005, he was an Assistant Professor of Strategy at INSEAD (France). He currently serves as a Full Professor and Ph.D. coordinator for Strategy & Innovation at the Scheller College of Business at Georgia Tech, and in March 2020, he was appointed to the Brady Family Professorship in Management.
