Samina Karim is Professor at Northeastern University’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business. Her research focuses on corporate strategy and organization design, acquisitions and alliances, and innovation through reconfiguration of resources and activities. Samina’s research has been published in a wide array of top journals including AMJ, HBR, MS, OS, SMR and SMJ. She currently is Deputy Editor for Organization Science and Associate Editor for Management Science. She serves on the editorial review boards of SMJ (was Associate Editor 2014-2020), SO, SS, and JOD (was Senior Editor 2013-2017). In 2020, Samina was the Division Chair of AOM’s STR division and launched the STRonger Together initiatives during the COVID pandemic. Earlier, in 2016, she served as the Chair of the Competitive Strategy IG at SMS. She earned degrees from the University of Michigan (PhD Strategy; MA Applied Economics), Harvard University (MA Education), and Cornell University (BS Electrical Engineering), and worked for Hewlett-Packard Co.
