Paulo Prochno is a Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. In his 17+ years at the Smith school he has held multiple roles, including Assistant Dean for Flex and Online MBA and Associate Department Chair.
Prior to joining the Smith School faculty in the Fall of 2007, he had appointments at Fundação Dom Cabral and Ibmec Business School in Brazil, where he coordinated open enrollment executive programs.
He earned a Ph.D. in management from INSEAD, an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a B.Eng. from the University of São Paulo. He has successfully taught strategy courses in Executive Development programs, MBA, M.Sc. and undergraduate programs, having won multiple teaching awards.
Paulo has written articles in the areas of knowledge management, organizational routines, cross-border management and manufacturing strategy. In 2003 he got the “Newman Award” from the Academy of Management.
He had multiple roles at the Teaching Community of the SMS, including chair of the community in 2020.
