The Strategic Management Society is proud to announce the election of Willie Ocasio and Lori Rosenkopf as SMS Fellows, Class of 2025—an honor reserved for scholars who have made significant and lasting contributions to the field of strategic management.

Willie Ocasio, the James F. Towey Professor of Business and Leadership at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work on the attention-based view of the firm. His influential research on institutional logics, corporate governance, and organizational vocabularies has shaped scholarly understanding of how organizations adapt, innovate, and define purpose. A recipient of numerous accolades—including the Dan and Louis Schendel Best Paper Prize and the George R. Terry Book Award—Ocasio continues to be a leading voice in strategy scholarship.

Lori Rosenkopf, the Simon and Midge Palley Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Wharton Faculty Director for Venture Lab, has advanced our knowledge of technological communities and network dynamics in high-tech industries. Her work reveals how ideas and innovations travel through firms and professionals. With a forthcoming book and extensive publications in top journals, Rosenkopf’s scholarship bridges strategy, technology, and organizational change.
