Dr William Yimbo is an equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) education advisor at the University of Calgary. With over decade of leadership in EDI programs, he has delivered hundreds of workshops and webinars on a broad range of topics focusing on ameliorating systemic and institutional inequities including hiring practices in higher education, power and privilege, unconscious bias, microaggressions, and intercultural competence.
Dr. Yimbo brings expertise in EDI education and a steadfast commitment to advancing EDI principles. He develops and delivers forward-looking equity and inclusion programs for staff and faculty at the University of Calgary. He holds a PhD in Mass Communication, an MA in Public Affairs from the University of Minnesota, USA, a graduate diploma in International Relations from the Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands, and a BA in Political Science and Economics from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
