Speakers:

Costas Markides is Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship and holds the Robert P. Bauman Chair of Strategic Leadership at the London Business School (LBS). He has been a professor at LBS since 1990 where he has served as Chairman of the Strategy Department for six years and as member of the Academic Board of Executive Education at the school for four years. He also serves on the Editorial Boards of several academic journals and served on the Board of Directors of the Strategic Management Society (SMS) for 6 years in 2013-2019. He has published his research in top academic journals as well as top managerial journals such as Harvard Business Review and Sloan Management Review. He has also published several books on the topics of strategy and innovation. His current research explores how we can use the technologies of the social era as well as new and disruptive business models to solve big societal problems, such as poverty, malnutrition, inner-city crime and climate change.

Paul Mang is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Strategy at the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. He is also a Partner and co-founder of Trimstone Partners, a London-based strategy consulting firm focused on large organization transformations. Paul is a former Partner at McKinsey & Company and leader in its North American Financial Services Practice. Over 14 years at McKinsey, in both the Chicago and London offices, he advised numerous clients on issues across strategy, organization and operations. He also served as the Global CEO of Analytics at Aon plc and as the Chief Innovation Officer at Guidewire Software.
Paul is an active advisor and investor in new ventures in the financial services technology space. He on the Advisory Board at Brewer Lane Ventures, a Boston-based venture capital fund. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Supercede, a series A London-based insurtech, and has served as a mentor at startup incubators such as 1871 (Chicago), Plug-and-Play (Silicon Valley), and Techstars (Americas East). He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Strategic Management Society (SMS). Paul has a doctorate in strategic management from Harvard University, and master and bachelor degrees from Stanford University.
