Sarah Wolfolds is an Assistant Professor of Strategy and Faculty Director of the Dyson Grand Challenges Program at the SC Johnson College of Business. Before joining Cornell, she received her Doctorate in Strategy from HBS and a bachelor’s degree in economics and mathematics from Swarthmore College with high honors. Professor Wolfolds previously worked at the Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. In her two streams of research, she looks to test the thematic and methodological bounds of traditional strategy research. The first stream examines hybrid organizations and related contexts and contributes to a growing body of literature focused on organizational goals besides profit maximization, considering if and how conclusions from the traditional strategy literature apply. Her second stream strives to apply econometric methods more effectively in order to answer important strategy questions. These streams advance the notion that strategy can serve as a foundation to answer important and rigorous questions in a changing business landscape.
