Mark DesJardine is an Associate Professor of Business Administration in the Strategy group of Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business. He received his Ph.D. from Western University’s Ivey Business School. Dr. DesJardine’s research focuses on corporate governance and business sustainability. He has contributed to the field with novel research on how financial markets impact long-term business value and the interests of stakeholders, with a particular focus on the role of shareholders. He is one of the leading scholars studying hedge fund activism. Dr. DesJardine has been recognized with a number of early career awards, including the 2021 Emerging Scholar Awards from the ONE division of the Academy of Management as well as being cited as one of the best “40 Under 40 MBA Professors” by Poets & Quants in 2024. He serves on the editorial review board of several journals, including Organization Science and the Strategic Management Journal.
