Donald J. “DJ” Schepker is an Associate Professor of Management, the Research Director in the Center for Executive Succession, and a Moore Research Fellow at the University of South Carolina. His research has appeared in outlets such as the Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, and Annual Review of Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior. His research focuses on executive succession and turnover, executive labor markets, corporate governance, and top management team and board level decision making. He currently sits on the editorial boards at the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, and is an Associate Editor at The Leadership Quarterly. In the past, he has received the Journal of Management’s Outstanding Reviewer Award and the Developmental Reviewer Award for the Academy of Management Review, while being named Outstanding Reviewer by the SL&G Interest Group at SMS and the STR division at the Academy of Management. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas and B.S. from Babson College.
