I am an Associate Professor in the Strategic Management Department at IESE Business School. My research interests encompass the implications of financial markets for corporate R&D decisions, the role of patent rights in the mobility of knowledge workers and the creation of start-ups, as well as the design and management of technology-based strategic alliances. My work has been published in various academic outlets, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Corporate Finance, Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, and The Journal of Industrial Economics, and has been presented at international conferences such as the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, Strategy Science Conference, Searle Center/USPTO Conference on Innovation Economics, Wharton Technology and Innovation Conference, Munich Summer Institute, and IP Statistics for Decision Makers. I have taught courses in competitive strategy and innovation economics to diverse student demographics, including undergraduate students, master’s students (with and without work experience), MBA students, and Ph.D. students. I hold a Ph.D. in Business and Finance and an M.Sc. in Business Economics and Quantitative Methods from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and a B.Sc. in Business from Technische Universität München.
