D. Daniel Keum is an assistant professor at Columbia Business School. His research interests lie at the intersection of innovation and competitive strategy. In particular, he explores how a firm’s competitive position as a leader or laggard makes competing demands for flexibility and efficiency and also affects optimal governance structure. His other work examines the internal competition for resources and its effects on firm goal-setting and managerial rivalry. His research has been published in Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science. He received his Ph.D. from Stern School of Business at New York University. Prior to academia, he worked at McKinsey & Company for four years.
