Candidate Statement:
Greetings, SMS Members! It has been my privilege to be a committed member and reviewer for SMS for 25 years, as well as a Representative at Large for the Teaching Community since 2022. At a time of dramatic geopolitical and technological change, our Teaching Community is an increasingly important forum in which to discuss the role of business education and improve the classroom effectiveness of researchers who teach strategy.
As a leader in the TC, I have worked hard to develop meaningful and high-impact experiences, both within and beyond the main SMS conference. These included well-received workshops on artificial intelligence and executive panels on technology and business education. I am the 2025 Program Co-Chair for the Academy of Management’s Teaching and Learning Conference, which will allow me to bring additional insights and organizational skills to the role of TC Associate Program Chair.
My vision for our Teaching Community is that we continue to develop a vibrant and supportive space for teaching and learning for SMS members from around the globe, especially those who may be newer to our community. We will strive to be a premier provider of high impact experiences such workshops, conference sessions, and even certificates related to strategy teaching and learning. Finally, I will work tirelessly to create spaces for us to interact with stakeholders such as Deans and business executives, and to increase our social impact as the premier strategy education community.
