We ask that authors submit their proposals using our online submission system. The submission system will open Fall 2019.
Access the Submission Guidelines here. We ask that all authors follow the submission guidelines for their proposals. If these guidelines are not followed, the submission runs the risk of being desk-rejected.
The deadline to submit a proposal is FEBRUARY 21, 2020.
Yes; you can be named as an author or co-author on no more than 2 proposals.
A Common Ground Session is an interactive discussion between the author(s), audience members, and a facilitator, centered around one common theme. Please click here for more information regarding a Common Ground Session.
A Paper Session consists of 3 to 4 proposals that are presented sequentially by their author(s), with a short amount of time allotted for audience members to ask questions. Please click here for more information regarding a paper session.
The conference will officially begin on Saturday, October 24, 2020, and will end late in the evening on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.
Due to the size of the conference and the complexity of constructing the conference schedule, it is very difficult for us to accommodate special requests. We do recognize that occasionally there are extenuating circumstances that prevent a presenter from being available on a specific day. In cases like these, please email the SMS Executive Office at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know of your constraints, and we will make an effort to take them into consideration when building the schedule.
Registration for the 2020 Annual Conference will open mid-April 2020.
You can request an invitation letter by contacting the SMS Executive Office at email@example.com. Please be aware that visa issuance is outside of our control and often requires considerable time and effort from your end. Visa requirements are set by the country you plan to visit. It is your responsibility to check entry requirements with the consular officials of the countries to be visited well in advance of your trip. Please note, the SMS cannot guarantee the issuance of a visa.
Yes, all conference attendees are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. SMS has contracted a room block at the Hilton London Metropole. Rooms will be available for a special rate on a first-come, first-serve basis. We advise all attendees to make reservations early to secure a room with the special conference rate. The Hilton online reservation site will be available from this page of our website in October 2019.
Your reservation must be made before December 31, 2019 to receive the early-bird room rate. The standard SMS room bock rate will not expire. Please note there are a limited number of guest rooms available through the SMS block, and these could be exhausted before this date.
