The Strategic Management Society has announced the appointment of Eileen McCarthy as its new Executive Director.
Ms. McCarthy brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education and in the private and public sectors, particularly in strategic planning, global strategy and operations, and change management. She has served in a variety of capacities at Northwestern University and the University of Chicago, most recently as the Managing Director of Knowledge and Impact at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern where she led teams responsible for sharing thought leadership of Kellogg faculty with external audiences and bringing practitioner insights to the School. Outside of higher education, her experience includes senior management roles in public, private and non-profit organizations, focusing on strategic and financial planning. Ms. McCarthy received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a Masters in Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago.
Ms. McCarthy’s appointment as Executive Director for the Society is a result of an international search, started in May 2018 by AGB Search.
Ms. McCarthy succeeds Mr. Nikolaus Pelka, who has served the Society as its first full-time executive director since 2006.
