Shyam Kumar is an Associate Professor of Management and Organization at Lally School of Management, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He received his B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, and Ph.D from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His current work explores a broad range of issues relevant to corporate strategy, including the dark side of internal resource markets, the impact of capital markets on decision making, and the financing of innovation. His research has appeared in the Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science. He has received several awards for his teaching, and he currently serves as the academic director for the MBA program.
