Lyda Bigelow is an Assistant Professor of Strategy and David Eccles Emerging Scholar at The University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. She received her MBA from Wharton and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on the impact of firm boundary decisions (e.g. make-or buy decisions, strategic alliances) on firm performance under conditions of rapid technological innovation. She also has research interests in industry evolution, new entrants, and organizational adaptation. Her work has appeared in the Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, and Organization Science and she has won Best Paper awards from the Academy of Management. She recently served on the Research Committee of the BPS Division of the Academy of Management. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Strategic Management Journal and the International Journal of Strategic Change Management. Prior to her present position, she was a strategy professor at the Olin Business School, Washington University in St. Louis.
