Raveendra Chittoor is an Associate Professor of Strategy and International Business and Canada Research Chair in Global Economy at University of Victoria. His research focuses on the internationalisation strategies of emerging economy firms and the structure and strategies of family-owned business groups. Dr. Chittoor’s research program is broadly focused on understanding how institutions and institutional environment shape the structure of the markets and the strategies of firms operating in those markets. This work will provide insights to managers and leaders of global firms for whom emerging market economies are becoming increasingly vital. Prior to joining the Gustavson School of Business, he has taught at the Indian School of Business and the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. He has industry experience of over twelve years in organizations such as IBM, CRISIL (a Standard & Poor’s company) and Mumbai-based Rajan Raheja group in senior management positions. Dr. Chittoor has won many awards for his research and teaching and his research has been published in journals such as the Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, Global Strategy Journal, Management International Review, Journal of International Management and Long Range Planning.
