Giovanni Valentini is an associate professor of Strategy at IESE Business School. His research examines how firms can combine internal and external knowledge to gain competitive advantage through technological innovation and growth. His work has appeared on Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Industrial & Corporate Change, and Research Policy, among other outlets. He has held visiting positions at Harvard University, University of Toronto, and K.U Leuven. He serves on the editorial board of the Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, and European Management Review and he has been a member of the Research Committee and of the Executive Committee of the Business Policy and Strategy Division of the Academy of Management.
