Ken G. Smith is the Dean's Chair and Professor of Business Strategy at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland at College Park. He is well known for his research in the areas of competition, competitive advantage, and strategic decision-making. Many of his articles have been published in leading scholarly journals, such as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, and the Strategic Management Journal. Ken Smith’s research has also won a number of awards, including the Best Paper Award from the Academy of Management Journal in 1999, Best Published Paper Award from the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management in 2001, and the Best Paper Award from the Journal of Management in 2003. A former entrepreneur, Ken was editor of the Academy of Management Review from 1996-1999, elected a fellow of the Academy of Management in 1998 and from 2006-2007 served as President of the Academy of Management.
