Sara Carter

Professor Sara Carter is Vice-Principal and Head of College of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow and Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. Her work examines the effects of business ownership on households and the consequences of structural inequalities in resource access, particularly finance, on the SME sector. This work encompasses the agriculture, rural and food sectors; the experiences of women as business owners; large-scale studies of the experiences and attitudes of small business owners; and the economic well-being of entrepreneurial households. She has served on the editorial board of several entrepreneurship research journals and is a former Editor and Senior Editor of Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice.
