Eileen McCarthy joined SMS as the Executive Director in October 2018. She brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education and in the private and public sectors, particularly in strategic planning, global strategy and operations, and change management. She served in a variety of capacities at Northwestern University and the University of Chicago, most recently as the Managing Director of Knowledge and Impact at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern where she provided leadership and operational oversight for speakers and conferences, corporate partnerships, special events, and Kellogg Insight. Outside of higher education, her experience includes senior management roles in public, private, and non-profit organizations, focusing on strategic and financial planning. Eileen received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a Masters in Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago.
