James Ostler

Jim Ostler is a PhD student in Policy and Strategy at UCLA. His primary research interest is in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation in both high technology industries as well as in applications for poverty elimination in poor and developing areas. He is also interested in using game theoretic models to explore the role that social norms and culture play in incentivizing behavior. Prior to joining academia, Jim worked for a venture capital funded university based start-up in Silicon Valley, at a Fortune 500 company, and as a consultant to firms in the automotive, semiconductor and CPG sectors.
