Renate Kratochvil is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo. Her research focuses on strategic management and digitalization, in particular collaboration within and across firms, decision making, problem solving, innovating, and interaction of individuals with new technologies. To investigate her research interests, she uses qualitative and quantitative data from conducting interviews, doing field observations, and collecting data with questionnaires. Renate collects her data in incumbent, global firms, which aim for entrepreneurial action and digital transformation. In her recent research, she investigates managers’ (intra-firm)collaboration practices in their strategy work and the unfolding of digital mindsets. Moreover, she investigates the antecedence of decision making in international firms, in particular, collaboration formations in problem-solving projects and deliberate creation of simple rules for opportunity capturing. Her research has been published in outlets such as Global Strategy Journal and Academy of Management Learning & Education, among others. She is an active member of the Strategic Management Society (SMS Social Media Team, Member of Editorial Review Board: Global Strategy Journal), Academy of Management (Strategy as Practice Rep-at-Large) and European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS Convenor). She holds a PhD in Economics and Social Sciences from WU Vienna University of Economics and Business (Institute for International Business).
