Markus Fitza is Professor for Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Frankfurt School of Fiance and Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado, an MBA from the University of Oxford and a Master in Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. Markus conducts research in the areas of strategy, corporate governance and entrepreneurship. For example, he is interested in the role and contributions of CEOs, board of directors in established as well as entrepreneurial firms, or how leadership as well as ownership arrangements affect performance. He explored these questions in a variety of contexts including venture capital investments or IPO underpricing, he is also active in the methods community. Markus is a Member of the editorial board of the Strategic Management Journal and his work appeared in a variety of outlets such as the Academy of Management Journal, the Strategic Management Journal, the Proceedings of the Royal Society and the Journal of International Business Studies.
