Esteban R. Brenes is the Steve Aronson Chair Professor of Strategy at INCAE Business School. He earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Costa Rica, MBA from INCAE Business School and a Ph.D. from the University of Florida. His interests include business and corporate strategy, mergers and acquisition and family firm management in emerging economies. He is the President and lead partner of a consulting firm. He was President of BALAS from 2009 to 2011 and established, in collaboration with Arch Woodside from the Journal of Business Research, a Special Bi-Annual Conference called “Strategic Management in Latin America” (SMLA). He was Dean of Faculty and MBA programs at INCAE from 2002 to 2007 and currently is the Director of the Advanced Management Program (AMP). From 1998 to 2000 he was appointed by the President of Costa Rica as Secretary of Science and Technology and Secretary of Agriculture.
