Ilya Okhmatovskiy is Gulbenkian Assistant Professor of Strategy at Nova School of Business and Economics (Lisbon). Previously he taught at McGill University and at the University of Southern California, where he obtained a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration. His research interests focus on corporate governance and business-government relationships in the context of emerging economies. Ilya studied how affiliation with the state affects firms' performance, how firms are redefining standards of good corporate governance, and how state ownership may generate trust in turbulent institutional environments. His research has been published in Organization Science, Organization Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, and other journals. Ilya serves as a member of the editorial board at Management and Organization Review and at Corporate Governance: An International Review and as a special issue co-editor for the Journal of World Business.
