Rocki-Lee (“Rocki”) DeWitt (Ph.D. Columbia University) is a Professor of Management in the School of Business at the University of Vermont. She began her career at the Pennsylvania State University where she rose to the position of Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Professional Masters Programs. From 2002 until 2009, Rocki DeWitt served as the Dean of the School of Business Administration at the University of Vermont. Her research on downsizing and corporate restructuring has been published in Administrative Science Quarterly, the Academy of Management Journal, and the Strategic Management Journal, among others. Rocki DeWitt's current research focuses on anomalies in family business and on the role of family business in the evolution of land-based, value-added industries. She is the STEP Team Leader for the University of Vermont, a member of Editorial Board of the Family Business Review, a member of the Board of Directors of Yankee Farm Credit (an ACA), and sits on the Greater Burlington Industrial Council. Rocki DeWitt has been a member of the Board of Governors of Beta Gamma Sigma and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Management. For more than 20 years, Rocki DeWitt has been an active member of the academy, both the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society, reviewing papers for a wide array of journals and meetings, as a chair and discussant at meeting sessions, and promoting the value of doctoral business education to students around the world.
