João Albino-Pimentel (Ph.D. in Strategic Management, HEC Paris) is an Assistant Professor of International Business at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. His research interests lie at the intersection of non-market and global strategies. He studies how firm- and country-specific political resources and capabilities influence firms' global strategy decisions. He also investigates how political resources are generated and create value for firms. His work has been published in the Strategic Management Journal and in the Global Strategy Journal. He has also received nominations for several awards, including the AIB Buckley & Casson Best Dissertation Award, the AOM IM Division’s D'Amore-McKim Best Dissertation Award, and the AOM ITC Emerald Best International Dissertation Award. Joao is an SRF dissertation scholar and serves at the editorial review boards of JIBS, JIBP and MBR. He is from Brazil and has lived and worked in China, the United States and France before joining the University of South Carolina.
