Daniel Forbes is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship at the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management. He joined Minnesota in 2000 upon completing a Ph.D. from the NYU Stern School of Business. Since then, he has taught courses on strategy and entrepreneurship to students in the undergraduate, MBA and executive education programs at the Carlson School. His research focuses on how people make strategic decisions, especially in small new ventures. His work has been published in the Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal and the Journal of Business Venturing, among other outlets, and has been supported by the National Science Foundation. He also serves on the editorial boards of Organization Science, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal and the Journal of Business Venturing. Prior to his academic career, he worked in the private and nonprofit sectors, and he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago.
