PK Toh is an associate professor at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. He obtained his Ph.D in Strategy from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 2007. He studies technology strategy, focusing on how competition and appropriation issues influence a firm’s innovations, organization of R&D, resource allocation and other technology-related strategies. He has published in leading academic journals and is on the editorial board of Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Strategy Science and Strategic Organization. His research has won the BPS Distinguished Paper Award, finalist in TIM Best Dissertation Award, and SMS Best Student Paper award. He has also won multiple Best Reviewer awards and teaching award. Prior to his academic career, he was a currency options trader at JPMorgan. Besides academic qualification, he has two advanced piano performance diplomas – Licentiate and Fellowship of the Trinity College of London.
