Christine Shropshire is Associate Professor of Management in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Her research is broadly in the area of corporate governance, including board composition and effectiveness, diversity in the upper echelons, and stakeholder management. Some of Christy’s research has been published in Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, and Organization Science, and featured in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, and the New York Times. Current research projects examine the effects of female leadership on firm risk taking and shareholder activism, as well as governance innovations and top management team and board dynamics. Prior to her doctoral studies, Christy worked as a Human Capital consultant, serving domestic and international clients in a variety of industries including healthcare and financial services.
