Pamela Barr is Professor of Strategic Management and Department Chair at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Her research interests center on strategy formulation and strategic adaptation and change and in particular the role that managerial and organizational cognition play in those processes. She has published her work in several leading journals including Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, and Journal of Management Studies. She is a long-time member of SMS and has served many roles in the Society. These roles include serving two terms as a Representative-at-large on the SMS board since 2012-2017, and previously serving as a member of the Executive committee of the Knowledge and Innovation interest group, as a Representative-at-Large of the Strategy Process interest group and as Co-chair of the 2013 Annual Meeting in Atlanta. She is currently serving as an Associate Editor of Strategic Management Journal. She has also been active in the Academy of Management, serving as a Representative-at-large of the Board of Governors 2013-2016 and as Chair of the Managerial and Organizational Cognition Division in 2004. At the Robinson College of Business, she is Department Chair and teaches Masters and Doctoral level courses in Strategic Management and Strategy Process.
