Mahka Moeen is an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Her research interests include firms’ capability reconfiguration strategies and the implications for strategic renewal and industry evolution. She has studied the reconfiguration strategies that firms undertake prior to their entrepreneurial foray to nascent industries, and the effect of these strategies on their capability development and economic value capture. Her research has been published in Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science. Her dissertation was a finalist for the Industry Studies Association and the Academy of Management’s Technology and Innovation Management division dissertation awards. Her dissertation proposal was recognized with a Kauffman Foundation dissertation fellowship and a Strategy Research Foundation dissertation scholarship. Mahka Moeen serves on the editorial review boards of Strategic Management Journal and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal. She received her PhD in strategy and entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business.
