Martin Friesl is a Professor of Organisation at University of Bamberg and Professor of Strategic Management at Lancaster University Management School and Associate Editor of the International Journal of Management Reviews. His research focuses on strategic renewal and the development, change and replication of organizational capabilities in a variety of contexts such as Biotechnology, IT offshoring, Retailing, Franchising, Commercial Property Development, the Armed Forces and Financial Services. He received his Masters’ degree in Business Education from LMU Munich and his Doctorate in Management from University Bw Munich. He has worked as a project manager for change management with Siemens AG, as a consultant, as well as in various finance roles in in the UK, Germany and China. Friesl has served on the board of the Strategy Practice IG at the Strategic Management Society as Chair, Programme and Associate Programme Chair. He is a member of the Strategic Management Society and the European Group of Organization Studies as well as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK. His work has received awards for its implications for practice and is published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Strategic Organization, Long Range Planning, Organization Studies, British Journal of Management, International Journal of Management Reviews, European Management Review, Industrial Marketing Management and Journal of Applied Behavioural Science.
