George Tovstiga, dual national of Canada and Germany, is Professor of Strategy at EDHEC Business School in Paris where his focus is on corporate and executive management education in the area of strategy and strategic management. George Tovstiga’s professional path has encompassed industry management practice, consulting and academia. On completion of his doctorate (Dr. sc. techn. / ETH Zurich) he joined Bayer’s Central Research in Leverkusen/Germany and spent over 12 years in various management practice roles in R&D. Before joining EDHEC in 2016, George Tovstiga was Professor of Strategy and Innovation Management at Henley Business School (UK) for over 10 years. Prior to that he consulted for Arthur D. Little’s (Switzerland) Zurich-based Strategy Practice; before that, George Tovstiga headed the ‘strategic leadership & change’ internal consulting practice at ABB (Switzerland) during its critical turnaround (2001 – 2003). George Tovstiga holds a visiting research professorship at the Russian National Research University ITMO in St. Petersburg, Russia; he consults multinationals on strategy and innovation management around the world and is an Advisory Board member of the Technopark®Zurich, a leading European science and innovation establishment. His most recent book, “Strategy in Practice, 3e (2015)” was published by Wiley in September 2015.
