Akbar (Aks) Zaheer is the Curtis L. Carlson Chair in Strategic Management at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He received his Ph.D. from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his master’s in business from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and his BA (Hons) in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. Prior to his doctorate, Aks Zaheer worked in industry for 11 years, including three years with Colgate-Palmolive in India, and five years in the consumer products industry in Nigeria. He has published extensively in scholarly journals. Aks Zaheer has been a summer visiting professor at the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, India since its inception in 2001and has been teaching strategic management to executive MBAs in China for the last 12 years. Aks Zaheer was named one of the World’s 50 Best B-School Professors by the respected Poets and Quants in 2012.
